CHET’S SUMMER VACATION

by Sam Mayer

Chet's Summer Vacation follows Chet, a high school boy who defiantly moves up to his mom's attic. Once there, Chet meets his new AC Unit, whose irresistible overtures force Chet to question his sexuality. This dark, surreal comedy explores different forms of burning -- those inflicted by the sun, those we inflict upon each other -- and the pain and pleasure that come with those burns. This site-specific production featured a two-story, outdoor set, which was built to propel the play’s narrative and thematic content.
